Mohali shocker: Ex-additional advocate general's wife strangled to death in robbery bid
PTC News Desk: In a shocking turn of events, wife of former Additional Advocate General (AAG) Krishan Kumar Goyal was strangled to death at her residence in Mohali's Phase 5.
According to the police, the murder was committed with intention of robbery. They fled after taking jewellery and cash.
Victim Ashok Kumari Goyal's body was discovered by house help in the morning when she arrived while the servant was tied to a chair.
Police have taken the servant, Neeraj into custody for questioning suspecting his role in the robbery and murder. He had been working for th Goyal family for nine years.
A forensic team reached the spot and conducted an investigation. The incident reportedly took place around 11 pm on Monday night.
Krishna Kumar Goyal is currently in Muscat to visit his daughter.
Police are also examining the angle that the robbers killed the woman but spared the servant behind even though he poses significant risk. Adding a layer to suspicion, Neeraj claimed that robbers first banged his head against the wall, but police did not find any injury marks on his head, raising suspicion and hsi subsequent detention.
