‘No service greater than Guru Ramdas Ji’: Giani Raghbir Singh flays Giani Harpreet Singh’s move to politics
PTC Web Desk: Questions are being raised over former Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh’s decision to join politics, with Sikh religious leaders openly criticising his move.
In a sharp statement, Giani Raghbir Singh said Giani Harpreet Singh’s actions reflected a disconnect between his words and deeds. “There is no service greater than serving Guru Ramdas Ji. Leaving the Guru’s house to pursue politics is not the right path,” Giani Raghbir Singh said, making it clear that he would never choose politics over religious service.
The remarks come days after Giani Harpreet Singh formally began his political innings. Notably, during his tenure as Jathedar, he had once issued strict directives against such decisions but has now defied his own stand, drawing criticism from within the Panth.
