OPD services to remain suspended across Punjab from Sept 9 to 11
PTC News Desk: Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA) stated on Sunday that OPD services across the state will remain suspended from September 9 to September 11.
The development follows the Government's continuous insistence on a "moderate" call for a few days to allow for conversations with the Finance Department. Earlier, it was decided that PCMSA would give the weekly call of total OPD closure from 9th September to 14th September.
The demonstration will be conducted in three phases. Phase 1 of the demonstration will take place from September 9 to September 11. Notably, a one-on-one meeting between PCMSA and the Cabinet sub-committee chaired by FM Harpal Cheema will take place on September 11th, followed by Phase 2 from September 12 to September 15.
Meanwhile, emergency services, post-mortems, medico-legal examinations, court evidence and judicial medical examinations will continue as usual.
The third phase of the protest will begin on September 16th. If there is no notification from ACP, PCMSA can consider stopping Medico-legal examinations during the second week of the agitation.
