Patiala: Jai Inder Kaur, farmers stages protest outside CM Mann’s function

Patiala, April 5: Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab Vice President and Daughter of former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Jai Inder Kaur on Wednesday led a massive protest of farmers outside CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's state function outside Patiala's Polo Ground. 

Leading a massive representation of farmers and BJP workers from Patiala District, the BJP leader also handed over a memorandum to ADC Gautam Jain addressed to the CM Bhagwant Mann, asking the government to fulfill the demands of the farmers.

While addressing media, Jai Inder Kaur said, "The CM's main priority right now should be to redress the problems of our farmers who have faced the wrath of the untimely rains, which has ruined the standing crops of our annadatas. But instead the CM is busy conducting 'Yogshala' to please his boss Arvind Kejriwal."


The BJP leader further said, "The farmers are demanding that the compensation announced by the government for damaged crops is very less and should be raised, also the farmers are complaining of unfair Girdawari being done in the fields."

She further said, "To awaken the government towards the vows of farmers we have been forced to hold protest against the Punjab government and we demand that CM Bhagwant Mann should immediately announce hiked compensation of Rs 30,000 per acre to farmers and he should ensure that fair and timely assessment of damage to the crops should be done at the earliest."

Jai Inder Kaur was accompanied by several BJP leaders, KK Malhotra, Harmesh Goyal, Surinder Kehrki, Narayan Narsot, K K Sharma, Anil Mangla,  Sanjeev Sharma Bitu, Labh Singh Phateri, Bagicha Singh, Sanjay Hans, Gopi Rangella, Manisha Uppal, Laljit Antal, Ramesh Lamba, Gagan Shergill, Jimmy Dakala, all MCs and Block Presidents among others.
