Punjab announces summer vacation for schools from June 2 to June 30
PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government has officially declared summer vacations for all schools across the state, with the break scheduled from June 2 to June 30, 2025. This announcement was made by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, confirming that the summer holidays will be applicable to all government, aided, and private schools in the state.
This move comes in light of the rising temperatures across the region over the past few days, which prompted many parents to urge for an early vacation declaration. While Punjab schools will commence their summer break on June 2, the union territory of Chandigarh had already declared its school holidays earlier. In Haryana, summer vacations for schools will begin on June 1, which falls on a Sunday this year.
Last year, the Punjab Government had declared summer holidays in May itself, responding to an early surge in temperatures. During that period, a creative homework strategy was implemented to keep students engaged. The assignments were designed to help children understand the importance of family values through interactive, play-based learning—an initiative aimed at blending education with emotional and social development.
