Punjab CM directs officers to ensure foolproof arrangements for G-20 Summit

Chandigarh, January 16: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann directed officers on Monday to make certain that the G-20 summit held in the holy city of Amritsar in March and June is top-notch.

The Chief Minister, who presided over a meeting today to review the mega event's arrangements, stated unequivocally that no stone should be left unturned in making this event a huge success. He stated that they were all fortunate to have been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host such a large event in the state. Bhagwant Mann expressed hope that the state government will set a new standard by successfully hosting the G-20 summit's two sessions in the state.


The Chief Minister expressed immense pride and satisfaction that the state will host two G-20 sessions, the first on March 15, 16, and 17, on Education, and the second on June 22-23, on Labour.

He stated that the state is well-known all over the world for its warm hospitality, and he instructed the officers to make elaborate arrangements for welcoming guests from participating nations during these events.

According to Bhagwant Mann, these sessions will be held in Amritsar, where lakhs of devotees pay their respects daily at Sri Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Mandir, Jallianwala Bagh, and other sites.

The Chief Minister stated that this summit will promote Punjab as the most preferred international business destination, as well as provide a platform for the government to showcase its achievements and facilities for establishing new businesses.

Bhagwant Mann also directed the officers to make extensive preparations for the success of this global event.

Taking stock of the work that needed to be done to spruce up the city's structure even more, the Chief Minister directed the officers to complete the work in a time-bound and result-oriented manner.

He directed the officers to ensure that whatever work was done was of the highest quality. According to Bhagwant Mann, the upgraded and newly developed infrastructure will benefit city residents for a long time.

On the occasion, Cabinet Ministers Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjer, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Harbhajan Singh ETO, Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav and others were also present.
