Punjab crime: Youth’s body found chopped into three parts near Jalandhar bypass in Ludhiana
PTC Web Desk: In yet another case highlighting deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, a gruesome incident has come to light in Ludhiana, where the body of a young man was found chopped into three pieces in an empty plot near Sacred Heart School, close to the Jalandhar bypass. A passerby noticed the body and raised the alarm, following which the police were informed.
Police personnel from Salem Tabri police station reached the spot and launched an investigation. The area has been sealed as part of the probe, and a forensic team has also been deployed to collect evidence.
According to police officials, part of the victim’s body was found burnt, while the remaining portion was recovered from a white drum lying at the site. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Davinder, a resident of the area, who had returned from Mumbai just two days ago.
Investigations revealed that after arriving from Mumbai, Davinder stayed at his house for only about 15 minutes before leaving again. He did not return home thereafter. On Tuesday morning, his mutilated body was found dumped in the vacant plot.
The police are questioning local residents and the victim’s family members to reconstruct the sequence of events. The body was found in three separate parts, adding to the brutality of the crime.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Davinder’s friend, identified as Shera, may be involved in the murder. Shera reportedly lives in a lane close to the victim’s residence. Police sources said CCTV footage recovered from the area shows Shera along with an accomplice allegedly transporting Davinder’s body in a drum.
Based on this evidence, the police are intensifying efforts to trace and apprehend the suspects.
