Heatwave 2024 : Punjab Govt revises school timings from 7 am to 12 noon amid scorching heat
Heatwave 2024 : In response to the scorching heatwave, the Punjab Government has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students by revising the timings of schools.
Effective from May 20th to 31th, the school classes to be conducted from 7 am to 12 noon.
The decision comes as a response to the intense heatwave gripping the region, with temperatures reaching unprecedented highs in recent days. By revising the school timings, authorities aim to mitigate the risks associated with exposure to extreme heat.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast a heatwave and a severe heatwave condition across vast swathes of North India, including several parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, between May 17 and 21.
Temperature in Punjab, Haryana nears 44 degrees
