Kharar triple murder case: The crime rate in Punjab is increasing with the each passing day and is also raising questions on the law-and-order situation in the state.

Tension, chaos and scare gripped Punjab’s Kharar as in horrific, shocking and unsettling incident 26-year-old drug addict brutally murdered his elder brother, wife and infant son.
The dreadful incident unfolded on Tuesday night but came to limelight on Thursday late night in which younger brother in a gruesome act, killed his elder brother, sister-in-law and infant son in Kharar’s Global City Colony located on the Jhugian Road of village Harlalpur.
In a spine-chilling and horrible occurrence, Lakhvir Singh (26) attacked his elder brother with spade, strangled his sister-in-law with a “dupatta.” After this gruesome action, , Lakhvir Singh threw one-year-old nephew, bodies of couple into Ropar- Bhakhra canal.
The deceased have been identified as software engineer Satbir Singh (35), wife Amandeep Kaur (33) and an infant son.
Amandeep Kaur’s body has been recovered from the Bhakra Canal in Kajauli village near Morinda, the search for body of Satbir and son is still underway.
Kharar police registered that case under Section 302, 34, 201 of the IPC and arrested the main accused Lakhbir Singh while his accomplice Gurdeep Singh is absconding.
