Punjab Police thwarts high-profile crimes with arrest of Lawrence Bishnoi gang operative
PTC Web Desk: In a significant breakthrough, the Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested an operative associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, thwarting potential high-profile criminal activities in the state. The accused, identified as Sachin alias Bacchi, and hailing from Mangali in Hisar, was taken into custody.
Acting on a tip-off, teams from the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) arrested Sachin near the gate of Chandigarh Group of Colleges in Landran. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrest, and said he played a role in providing logistical support to the gang's members.

As per the Punjab Police, Sachin's arrest has undoubtedly averted "possible sensational crimes" within the state. Preliminary investigations revealed that he, along with other gang members, was allegedly conspiring to carry out targeted attacks as instructed by their foreign handlers, according to the DGP.
During the operation, the police seized four pistols and 12 live cartridges from Sachin's possession. Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of AGTF, Sandeep Goel, said Sachin had a criminal record and was a wanted individual on the Punjab Police's radar.
A case has been registered against Sachin under relevant sections of the Arms Act in Mohali. Ongoing investigations suggest that more recoveries and additional arrests connected to this criminal module are anticipated in the near future.
