Punjab tragedy: 4 dead after consuming poisonous liquor in Sangrur
Sangrur: In a horrific and dreadful incident, at least four people have died in Punjab’s Sangrur after consuming poisonous liquor, sparking widespread panic among the villagers.
The incident unfolded in Gujran village is located in Sunam tehsil under Dirba police station of Sangrur district in Punjab.
The deceased has been identified as Bhola Singh (50), Nirmal Singh (42), Pragat Singh (42), and Jagjit Singh (30) and they all belonged to Dalit families.
Authorities from the Dirba police station have commenced an investigation into the incident and have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
This tragedy echoes a similar series of deaths due to alcohol consumption in Tarn Taran a few years ago.
