Punjab: Vibrant roadshow sets the stage for Ramleela festivities at Mohali's Wave Estate
Mohali, October 17: The city of Mohali was abuzz with excitement as a roadshow featuring iconic characters from the Ramleela took the streets by storm on Tuesday evening, paving the way for the commencement of the grand Ramleela performances at Wave Estate in Sector 85.
A lively and colourful roadshow brought the epic characters of the Ramayana to life in a dynamic, open-air display. The event was organised to build anticipation and set the stage for the upcoming Ramleela festivities, which draw people from all walks of life.
The roadshow was a spectacle of creativity, artistry, and cultural significance. It featured an array of meticulously crafted floats, each representing a pivotal moment from the Ramayana. Characters such as Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, Ravana, and more were brought to life by dedicated performers who enthusiastically portrayed their roles with immense devotion.
The streets were adorned with vibrant decorations and spectators were treated to traditional music, dance, and folk performances as they watched the procession pass by.
Many were seen taking photographs and videos, capturing this unique cultural experience to share with their friends and family.
Varun Vasudeva, president of Ram Leela And Dussehra Committee Wave Estate, Sector 85 and 99, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response. "Our aim was to introduce the grandeur of Ramleela in a way that everyone can appreciate. The roadshow allowed us to engage with the community and ignite the festive spirit ahead of the Ramleela performances," he added
He said this year's festivities would encompass a variety of events, including 'Mata Ki Chowki', Ramleela, Dussehra, and the grand culmination with Ravana Dahan.
Starting from October 19, a six-day Ramleela would be staged at Wave Estate, Sector 85, Mohali. The event would witness the presence of distinguished personalities from Mohali such as AAP MLA Kulwant Singh, DC Ashika Jain, SSP, Mohali, Sandeep Kumar Garg and SDM Chandrajyoti Singh.
