Amritsar, November 24: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday arrested revenue kanungo Om Parkash, posted at circle Thathi Sohal, in Tarn Taran district red-handed while accepting a a bribe of Rs 10,000.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Vigilance Bureau said kanungo Om Parkash was caught red-handed on the complaint of Bhalwinder Singh, a resident of Jhabal village, Tarn Taran.
Giving details, he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the kanugo was demanding a bribe of Rs 25,000 for providing him demarcation report of his relative and the deal was struck at Rs 10,000.

After verifying his complaint, a VB team laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station. Further investigations are on.
