Punjab Weather Update: Rainfall, high winds alert issued in these 10 districts of Punjab, check details

Punjab Weather Update: During the spring season, North and East India are encountering consecutive western disturbances. In the recent weather update, a westerly trough and jet streams extended unusually far south, affecting a wide area encompassing East and Northeast India.

This phenomenon occurred between March 19 and March 22 in the Western Himalayas, leading to light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in the mountainous regions and North India, especially Punjab likely to experience rainfall over the next three days.

Rainfall, high winds alert in Punjab 

The Indian Meteorological Department issued a weather warning for Punjab indicating the light rain accompanied by strong winds over the next three days. 

The changes in weather conditions of Punjab is expected across various districts of Punjab on March 28, 29 and 30.

The Indian Meteorological Department issues alert for rainfall and high winds in ten districts of Punjab which includes Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, and Mohali.

In recent days, the temperature is continuously on rise, thus intensifying heat level across several districts of Punjab. However, the expected change in Punjab weather change in the next three days is anticipated to provide some relief from heat wave. 

 

Faridkot registers highest temperature in Punjab 

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Faridkot registered the highest temperature in Punjab at 33.4 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana recorded the lowest temperature at 13.1 degrees Celsius, Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 31.0 degrees Celsius, Amritsar at 32.0 degrees Celsius, Patiala at 32.6 degrees Celsius, Mohali at 31.5 degrees Celsius, Ropar at 30.0 degrees Celsius, Gurdaspur 29.7 degrees Celsius, and Jalandhar recorded 29.9 degrees Celsius.
