SGPC elections: Deadline for registration of new voters extended | Check Details
Mohali, November 15: The deadline for the registration of new voters for the the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections has been extended until February 29, 2024.
In a notification issued by the Centre to the Punjab Government, it has been elaborated that the deadline for registering new voters for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) elections has been extended until February 29, 2024.

Notably, there had been a demand from leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal, including Sukhbir Singh Badal, and other representatives from various religious and political groups, urging the state government to issue a request to the Centre for an extended period to register new voters for the SGPC elections. Following this, the Centre has issued a notification to the Punjab Government, extending the time by more than three months for making votes for the SGPC elections.
