Temperature drops; rain likely in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh
Punjab Weather: Following a brief respite from cold wave conditions, parts of north India are expected to see a temperature drop in the coming days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the forecaster, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are to witness rainfall on Sunday. Delhi may see cloudy skies beginning Sunday, with some areas receiving light rain.
On Monday, a stronger western disturbance will be active in the area, bringing more rain.

On January 29 and 30, the weather service predicts light/moderate/fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/snowfall over the western Himalayan region, as well as light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and west Uttar Pradesh.
The IMD also issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir for today and tomorrow.
