Patiala, July 19: A tragic roof collapse in Punjab's Patiala claimed two lives and left three individuals injured.
The roof of an old house collapsed in the Ragho Majra area of Patiala Tuesday night. The ill-fated dwelling was rented by migrant workers.

Meanwhile, heavy rainfall poured in Patiala and its surrounding areas on Wednesday morning, creating a flood-like situation in many areas. The downpour left severe issues since sewer lines and drains became clogged, causing flooding across many houses.
Despite the previous week's tremendous rainfall, which caused widespread flooding, the Municipal Corporation failed to learn from the experience and failed to adequatelyclear the drains and sewerage lines. This negligence has resulted in a flood-like condition in several parts of the city.
