In a major and latest weather update, due to inclement weather, the new track to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir has been closed, and chopper service to the shrine has been suspended in the Reasi district on Wednesday.


Meanwhile, all government and private schools in J-K's Doda district will remain closed for students today. "In view of heavy rainfall, it has been decided that all Govt/Private schools in Doda district will remain closed for students today," DC Doda said.

Also, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Maharashtra today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Raigad and Pune, as well as an orange alert for Satara, Kohlapur, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Thane, and Mumbai.
