People injured due to electrocution at the under-construction Namami Gange project on the banks of the Alaknanda River in Chamoli have been brought to AIIMS Rishikesh by helicopter for treatment.
A couple was thrashed by a mob in Delhi's Dwarka for allegedly employing a 10-year-old girl as domestic help and torturing her. The video of the incident also went viral on social media.
A shocking video of the incident showed people thrashing the woman, who was still dressed in her pilot's uniform. As she cries for help, she is grabbed by her hair and hit by several women. She screams "sorry" at one point, but the abuse continues.

The death toll in the transformer explosion in Chamoli rose to 15. The deceased include 4 policemen.

Patiala, July 19: The city of Patiala and its neighboring areas experienced heavy rainfall on Wednesday morning, resulting in a flood-like situation in numerous areas. The downpour caused significant problems as sewerage lines and drains became choked, leading to the flooding of many houses.
"River Ganga is once again in spate as a result of constant rain that has been falling in the plains and hills of all of Uttarakhand for the past nine days, increasing the risk of flooding in the nearby areas. With the unexpected increase in the water level of river Ganga, there is a danger of flood in the coastal areas of Mayakund, Chandrabhaga, Chandreshwarnagar etc," said officials.
Four people have been killed and several others are feared trapped after over half-a-dozen houses collapsed due to heavy rains in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. A rescue operation is underway in the affected villages of Bani tehsil.

In a major and latest weather update, due to inclement weather, the new track to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir has been closed, and chopper service to the shrine has been suspended in the Reasi district on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, all government and private schools in J-K's Doda district will remain closed for students today. "In view of heavy rainfall, it has been decided that all Govt/Private schools in Doda district will remain closed for students today," DC Doda said.
