Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da Trust Scams: HC notices to Punjab, Centre and Rozana Spokesman directors

PTC Web Desk: In response to a petition alleging fraudulent activities by the Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da Trust, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday served notices on the Punjab and Central Governments, along with Rozana Spokesman newspaper directors Joginder Singh and Jagjit Kaur.

Jalandhar residents Satnam Singh and another individual have approached the Punjab and High Court, urging a thorough investigation into the alleged scams involving the Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da Trust. The petition identifies the Punjab and Central Governments, as well as Rozana Spokesman Newspaper's directors, Joginder Singh and Jagjit Kaur.

According to the petitioners, they had invested substantial sums in the Trust with the intention of supporting religious endeavors. However, they later discovered they had fallen victim to deception. Many others are believed to have experienced similar fraudulent practices and have not received reimbursements for their investments.

Last year, following a complaint, the Chandigarh SSP had written to the ED, requesting an investigation into the scam. However, no action has been taken to date.

In light of these alleged scams, the petitioners have requested a comprehensive inquiry by either the ED or the High Court. The High Court has now issued notices to the Punjab and Central Governments, as well as Rozana Spokesman Newspaper directors, Joginder Singh and Jagjit Kaur, and has requested their responses.
