Lockdown in Punjab on cards? Amid growing concerns over the rising coronavirus cases in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is all set to hold a Covid review meeting on Thursday. According to the information, Captain Amarinder Singh could announce even more strict curbs after the Covid review meeting to control the coronavirus situation in Punjab. Even as the issues like shortages of medical oxygen and vaccines would also be taken up during the meeting. On Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister urged the Centre to ensure uninterrupted oxygen supplies, with at least 120 MT daily allocation for the state. He also reiterated his request for urgent steps to set up two pending PSA plants approved by it two months ago. As Punjab Government has ordered lockdown-like restrictions following the rapid surge in coronavirus cases, the Punjab Police has swung into action enforcing the newly announced restrictions, including night curfew timings and limits on gatherings in public places.
