Punjab elections 2022: Mahie Gill, Hobby Dhaliwal join BJP
Chandigarh: Ahead of Punjab Assembly elections 2022, Punjabi actors Mahie Gill and Hobby Dhaliwal on Monday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of party in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
After joining BJP, Mahie Gill said that she was hopeful of support from the people in her new journey. Mahie said that she has got a good platform and that she wants to do development in Punjab.

Meanwhile, Hobby Dhaliwal said that Punjab is my facilitator and that he wants BJP's policies to be implemented in Punjab in the people's interest.
On the other hand, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the BJP is contesting Punjab Assembly elections for the first time.
Taking a jibe at Charanjit Singh Channi who is named Congress party's CM face in Punjab Assembly elections 2022, Shekhawat said that the party fought like WWE for the CM post. "Punjab knows everything. Today, BJP is being welcomed across Punjab," he said.
After the Model Code of Conduct came into force in Punjab for Assembly elections 2022, various enforcement teams seized valuables worth Rs 319.29 crore in violation of poll ethics till February 3, 2022, the official said.
Punjab Assembly elections 2022 are scheduled to be held on February 20 while the results will be declared on March 10. Earlier, the elections were scheduled to be held on February 14, however, it was postponed following the requests by the Ravidas Community and several political parties.
