Punjab: Farmers Union postpones its meeting till October 21
Farmers Protest against Farm Laws 2020: Following the adjournment of Punjab Vidhan Sabha's special session, the meeting of 30 farmers' organizations, scheduled to be held on October 20, has been postponed till October 21. Meanwhile, Balbir Singh Rajewal said that the meeting has postponed after the House was adjourned without bringing the resolution against farm laws 2020 in Vidhan Sabha. Now, the farm-related bill will be introduced in Punjab Vidhan Sabha's special session on October 20. Amid farmers protest across the state against Farm laws 2020, the Punjab Farmers Union, earlier this week, announced that the Rail Roko agitation will continue till October 20. Punjab farmers on October 17 burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the state, in an order to protest against the 'black laws'. The protest was being staged following the passing of the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, and Essential Commodities Act, in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, during the monsoon session of the Parliament. -PTC News
