Unlock 4: Punjab government's major announcement on reopening of schools

Punjab Government on Saturday issued guidelines on Unlock 4 which is to be implemented from September 21 to 30. The state government has permitted online distance learnming with effect from September 9. Meanwhile, The schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will, however, continue to remain closed for the students and regular classes. In order, the Punjab government stated that the 50 percent of the teaching and non-teaching staff shall be allowed to be called to the schools at a time for online teaching/tele-counseling and related work in the areas outside the containment zones. The higher educational institutions are allowed to open only for research scholars (Ph.D.) and post-graduate students of technical and professional programmers requiring laboratories and experimental works. The open-air theatres are permitted to open with social distancing and wearing of face masks and covers. However, the cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, and similar places will remain closed. -PTC News
