Punjab Municipal Election 2021 result: After the result of the MC election in Punjab was announced, the Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday thanked its party warriors for emerging as "the most powerful".
Responding to the Punjab Municipal Election 2021 result, Sukhbir Singh Badal tweeted: "My heartiest thanks and congratulations to brave Shiromani Akali Dal warriors who asserted themselves and emerged as the most powerful and the only challengers to the corrupt and incompetent Congress rulers in the civic poll."

"Our workers battled unprecedented repression, money bags and govt machinery and yet emerged as a force to reckon with. Writing on the wall : 2022 elections on - Congress gone," he added.
Besides the Punjab MC election result, former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that the Shiromani Akali Dal will form the government in 2022.

"Hearty congratulations to all Akali Dal candidates, irrespective of votes, you are all winners! The results show that despite harassment, violence, and booth capturing, SAD will form the govt in 2022 and those officials who indulged in malpractices should start counting their days," she said in a tweet.
The results of general/by-elections of 8 Municipal Corporations and 109 Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats in Punjab were announced on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the result of SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation will be out on February 18 as the State Election Commission announced re-polling in two booths of SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation.
