4:16 PM  Ward number 1 Congress wins,  Diljeet Kaur wins from Akali Beghowal, Jalandhar 
3:56 PM Daljeet Cheema, Vineet Joshi and N K Sharma staged a protest in front of State Election Commission Office in Chandigarh. Demanding stern against the perpetrators of violence in Patiala, The BJP-Akali Dal Leadership said the poll panel failed in executing its duties.

The voting for the municipal polls in Punjab will be held on Sunday, December 17. The ruling Congress, main Opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance are in the fray. The voting will begin at 8 AM and end at 4 PM. Polling would be held for the municipal corporations of Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala. The results of the Punjab Municipal Elections 2017 will be announced on Sunday evening. A total of 769,153 voters will exercise their franchise in Amritsar where 413 candidates are in the fray in 85 wards. Meanwhile, in Jalandhar, 305 candidates are in the fray from 80 wards. The number of voters here is 560,261. The election will be held in 57 wards in Patiala in which 260,664 voters can exercise their franchise. -PTC News
