Punjab: Three students of Nangal's Mount Carmel School test positive for Covid-19
Covid-19 Punjab: Amid growing concerns over the rising cases of Omicron variant, three students of Mount Carmel School in Nangal's village tested positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the school has been closed for 10 days as a precautionary measure.
Covid-19 has started spreading again. The team of the health department is continuously visiting the schools and taking samples of the children.

Likewise, the samples of children of Mount Carmel School of Jindwari village of Nangal were taken. Later, the report of three students returned positive.

On the other hand, District Education Officer Raj Kumar Khosla said that children were being continuously tested as a precautionary measure.
Earlier on Sunday, Punjab reported the first case of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. In Chandigarh, the Omicron variant was detected in a 20-year old foreign traveller who had arrived in India from Italy on November 22.
He was diagnosed with Covid-19 positive on December 1 and was, later, tested positive for the Omicron variant. He was fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.
