Ferozepur Court complex, Municipal Council receive bomb threats via email; court proceedings halted
PTC News Desk: The Ferozepur District Courts and Municipal Council buildings received bomb threats on Wednesday, triggering panic among the authorities.
As a precautionary measure, both the buildings were evacuated and security agencies launched search operations.
The threatening email to the District Courts was sent to the Sessions Judge's official email address.
Soon after receiving the information, police took control of the entire complex and cordoned off the area. Security agencies and bomb disposal squad are conducting thorough search of the premises.
Public entry into the court complex was also restricted till 1 pm, affecting court proceedings.
Bomb threat to Municipal Council building
The Ferozepur Municipal Council building also received a bomb threat through email. The building was evacuated as a precaution, and the police and senior officials were informed.
Despite receiving several threatening emails, authorities have not yet identified who sent them. Police and security agencies are investigating the matter.
