Kangana Ranaut courts controversy again, calls Naseeruddin Shah a ‘fox’ over student protest remarks
PTC Web Desk: Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has criticised veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah over his recent comments about the ongoing student protests.
Kangana’s remarks came after actor Piyush Mishra questioned Shah’s silence on the protests by students in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.

Kangana shared a report about Mishra’s comments on Instagram and took a direct dig at Shah. She said she would rather be called a “dog” than a “fox”, referring to the dog’s loyalty. She also accused Shah of benefiting from India while allegedly speaking in favour of a neighbouring country.

“I rather be a dog than a lomdi (fox) like Nasiruddin,” she added.
The controversy began after Naseeruddin Shah criticised several A-list celebrities for not speaking out during student protests. Shah had said that celebrities would speak when their conscience told them to. He also used an example involving a dog with a bone in its mouth, saying that it cannot bark until the bone is gone.
Piyush Mishra responded to the comment after meeting protesting JPSC students at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi.
Piyush Mishra questioned who the “dogs with bones in their mouths” were in the current situation and asked Shah why the same standard was not being applied now.
He said he was asking the question with respect but wanted to know who the people referred to in Shah’s earlier comment were.
Kangana has also spoken against some aspects of the ongoing Gen-Z-led protests. She has particularly criticised videos in which some protesters allegedly used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
What are Jharkhand student protests about?
The protests in Jharkhand are linked to issues surrounding recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
Students have raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the examination and recruitment process and have been demanding action from the authorities.
