Russia-Ukraine war: Ukraine President in talks with France, says weapons on the way
As Russia-Ukraine War entered Day 3, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that he is in contact with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and said that "weapons and equipment are on the way."
"A new day on the diplomatic frontline began with a conversation with @EmmanuelMacron. Weapons and equipment from our partners are on the way to Ukraine. The anti-war coalition is working!" tweeted Zelenskyy.
Since Ukraine is not ready to surrender, Zelenskyy had earlier asked Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to serve as a mediator in possible talks with Russia, according to Ukraine's UNIAN news agency.
In a recent tweet, the Ukrainian leader had said "It is a crucial moment to close the long-standing discussion once and for all and decide on Ukraine's membership in the #EU. Discussed with @eucopresident further effective assistance and the heroic struggle of Ukrainians for their free future."

"Ukraine is fighting the invader with weapons in hands, defending its freedom and European future. Discussed with @vonderleyen effective assistance to our country from in this heroic struggle. I believe that the #EU also chooses Ukraine," he added.
Ukraine's call for support comes as Russia cripples the operations of more than 800 Ukrainian military infrastructure sites so far.
According to Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov, 14 military airfields, 19 command posts, 24 S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and 48 radar stations were destroyed along with eight Ukrainian naval boats hit.
Meanwhile, India on Friday abstained from voting on UNSC resolution condemning Russia's attack on Ukraine saying that the "path of diplomacy was given up".
"India's deeply disturbed by the recent turn of developments in Ukraine. We urge that all efforts are made for the immediate cessation of violence and hostilities," said India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti at the UNSC meeting on Ukraine.
