Russia-Ukraine War: Ukraine is facing a major attack by Russia and several heart-wrenching videos have surfaced on social media. In one such incident, a Ukrainian soldier reportedly blew himself up on a bridge to stop the Russian tanks. The soldier has been identified as Vitaly Skakun who is a General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Skakun was a part of a marine infantry battalion that was aiming to block the Henichesk bridge in the southern Kherson region.

The bridge was mined. However, Skakun didn’t manage to get away from there and hence sacrificed his life to save the people of his country. Meanwhile, the Russian armed forces have established full control over the Ukrainian city of Melitopol in the south of the country, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday. He also stressed that Russian soldiers are taking all measures to ensure the safety of civilians and exclude provocations by Ukrainian special services and nationalists. Russia-Ukraine War: Ukrainian soldier blew himself up on bridge to stop Russian tanks On Thursday, Russia launched a special operation to "demilitarize and de-Nazify Ukraine", responding to calls from the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics for "help in countering the aggression of the Ukrainian troops." The Russian Defense Ministry said the special operation is targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure only and the civilian population is not in danger.
