Russia-Ukraine war: Zelenskyy terms ongoing fourth round of talks as 'difficult'

Kiev (Ukraine), March 14: Amid the ongoing fourth round of talks between Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has termed the negotiations as "difficult talks". "Difficult talks continue. Everybody is waiting for news. This evening we will report on the outcome," the Ukrainian President said in a video message, reported CNN. Notably, the fourth session is being held virtually, not in person, informed the lead negotiator on the Ukrainian side in talks with Russia. Ukraine's negotiating team is in Kiev. 4th round of Ukraine-Russia talks underway Earlier, talks were held in Belarus, with the first round of negotiation talks between the two sides held in the Gomel region of Belarus on February 28. The second round of talks was held in Belarus on March 3. The third round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Russia also took place in Belarus on March 7. 4th round of Ukraine-Russia talks underway Meanwhile, Zelenskyy will not be able to address the extraordinary plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), informed PACE Chairman Tiny Kox on Monday. On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine after the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics requested help in defending themselves. 4th round of Ukraine-Russia talks underway The Russian Defense Ministry said the special operation is targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure only and the civilian population is not in danger. The West however denies these claims by the Russians and in response, Western nations have imposed comprehensive sanctions on Moscow. In addition, they introduced sanctions on Belarus for supporting Russia's operation in Ukraine.
