California Wildfires: Smoke blocks sun, turns San Francisco Bay Area skies orange [PHOTOS]
California Wildfires: The smoke from the wildfires that erupted across the Western US nearly blocked the sun in Northern California. The winds are likely to fuel the fires burning in California, Oregon, and Washington State.
As per the report, around 2.3 million acres of land burned in California this year. This year the wildfires had affected more than it did last year.
The Creek fire has so far burned 152,000 acres, five times the size of San Francisco. It is still out of control. The National Guard airlifted hundreds of civilians out of the Sierra National Forest and away from the fire. The pilots involved in the rescue operation says that it is one of the most harrowing flyings of their careers.

Also, former President Barack Obama, tweeted: "The fires across the West Coast are just the latest examples of the very real ways our changing climate is changing our communities. Protecting our planet is on the ballot. Vote like your life depends on it—because it does."

Not only California is battling an unprecedented fire season. In Washington, around 330,000 acres had burned across the state.
Likewise, in the small town of Malden, almost all of the homes and municipal buildings including the post office and fire department were burned to the ground.
