Security forces neutralise two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists in J-K's Anantnag

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), September 6: At least two terrorists affiliated with the proscribed terror outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) were killed in an encounter in the Poshkreeri area of Anantnag, officials said on Tuesday. The killed terrorists have been identified as Danish Bhat (Kokab Duree) and Basharat Nabi. "Both were involved in the killing of one Territorial Army personnel Saleem on 9 April 2021 and killing of two civilians on 29 May 2021 in Jablipora," ADGP Kashmir said on Twitter. More details are awaited. Earlier on September 4, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a hybrid terrorist in Sopore. However, he was eventually arrested by the joint team. The apprehended individual was identified as Saqib Shakeel Dar of the Mumkak Batpora A/P Check Brath Sopore, and the police recovered one pistol, one magazine, and eight pistol rounds from his possession. The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested person was working as a hybrid terrorist for the proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and was constantly looking for an opportunity to carry out attacks on security forces and civilians, according to the J-K police statement.
