SGPC chief advocate Dhami condemns 'sacrilege bid' at Patiala village
Amritsar, March 15: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has strongly condemned the incident of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib Ji at village Madomajra in Patiala district.

Advocate Dhami, President of the Shiromani Committee, said that Guru Granth Sahib is supreme for the Sikhs, and its disrespect can never be tolerated. He said that some mischievous people were manipulating the sentiments of Sikhs but culprit caught in the act of indecency was declared mentally ill by the police.
He said that after getting information about the incident which took place at village Madomajra today, the member of the Shiromani Committee S. Jarnail Singh Kartarpur, Manager of Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib Patiala.
Bhagwant Singh and Head Granthi Giani Pranam Singh were present on the occasion. He said that according to the information received, an attempt was made by a person from the village to disrespect Guru Granth Sahib Ji, who was apprehended by the Sangat and handed over to the police.
The SGPC President said that the culprit of the incident is now with the police, who should be strictly interrogated so that the forces behind such incidents can be traced.
