Asia Cup 2025: Dubai police issue strict guidelines ahead of high-voltage India-Pakistan clash
PTC News Desk: India and Pakistan are all set for high-voltage clash in the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. This marks the first time in 41 years that the two arch-rivals will meet in the title match of the continental tournament. Emotions have already run high between the sides during the eight-team competition, and the final promises to be just as intense.
In preparation for the high-profile encounter, Dubai Police have issued strict guidelines for spectators. Ticket holders are advised to arrive at least three hours before the scheduled start (8 PM IST). Each valid ticket allows only a single entry, with no re-entry permitted once a person exits the stadium. Fans are required to follow stewards’ instructions, and parking will be allowed only in designated zones.
Authorities have also published a list of banned items, including flags, banners, and firecrackers, which supporters from both India and Pakistan are prohibited from carrying inside the stadium. Offenses such as pitch invasions, possession of restricted items, or abusive conduct could lead to fines ranging from ₹1.2 lakh to ₹7.24 lakh, along with possible imprisonment of up to three months. Acts of violence, object-throwing, or racist/abusive behavior towards players could attract penalties of up to ₹2.41 lakh to ₹7.24 lakh. To ensure order, specialised police units will be on duty, and any threat to public safety will trigger strict legal action.
On the cricketing front, India and Pakistan have already faced off twice in this year’s Asia Cup, with India emerging victorious on both occasions under Yadav’s leadership.
