India become first to qualify for 2023 World Cup semi-finals
World Cup 2023: Indian team became the first to qualify for the 2023 World Cup semi-finals, defeating Sri Lanka by 302 runs in Mumbai. The win was India's seventh in the competition in as many games, and Rohit Sharma's team remains the only unbeaten team at the World Cup.
India demonstrated their dominance once again against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium, bowling the islanders out for 55 in a 358-run chase. The trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami destroyed the Sri Lankan batting order, much like they did in the Asia Cup final in September.
India had bowled the islanders out for 50 in the continental tournament title match, with Siraj picking six wickets, and it appeared the India pacer resumed from where he left off in Colombo, taking two wickets off his very first over. Siraj's double-wicket over came before Jasprit Bumrah's second successful opening over, in which he dismissed Pathum Nissanka with the first ball of the game.
