India lifts historic Women's World Cup glory, beats South Africa by 52 runs

PTC News Desk: India’s women’s cricket team captured their first-ever World Cup title with a 52-run victory over South Africa in the final held in Navi Mumbai.

Chasing 299, South Africa were bowled out for 246, despite a valiant century from Laura Wolvaardt.


Earlier, India posted 298 for 7, powered by Shafali Verma’s explosive 87 and crucial contributions from Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh. Deepti struck a run-a-ball 58 with three fours and a six, while Richa’s quickfire 34 off 24 balls added late momentum through a 47-run stand for the sixth wicket.
