IPL 2024: MS Dhoni to retire? Kohli drops big hint says, ‘playing maybe for last time’
MS Dhoni to retire? The clash between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings to be a very important encounter as it will decide the fourth team of the Indian Premier League 2024.
RCB to host CSK in a crucial Indian Premier League 2024 encounter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.
Chennai Super Kings are fourth on the points table with 14 points from 13 matches while Royal Challengers Bengaluru are at sixth with 12 points from as many games. CSK also have a better net run rate of 0.528 than RCB's 0.387.
As RCB faces off against CSK in Bengaluru on Saturday, it might be the last opportunity for fans to see two Indian cricket legends, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, competing against each other in the IPL.
Before the match against CSK, Kohli speculated that this could potentially be Dhoni's final IPL game.
Dropping a massive hint on MS Dhoni’s retirement, Virat Kohli said, “Mahi bhai and I will be playing again, maybe for the last time, who knows. It'll be a great moment for fans, we had a great partnership for India over the years. We all know how many matches he's finished and won the match for the team."
The 42-year-old continues to captivate fans with his on-field presence, having led CSK to the IPL title last year.
Following CSK's final home game of the season, Dhoni and his teammates performed a lap of honour to express their gratitude to the fans, considering this might be the last time the five-time champions play at their home ground this season.
Meanwhile, RCB staged a remarkable comeback with five consecutive wins after a six-game losing streak, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Kohli has been instrumental in RCB's resurgence, maintaining his position as the top scorer in the 2024 IPL with 661 runs at a strike rate of 155.16 from 13 matches
