PBKS likely to win IPL 2025 even if the finale gets washed away; know why
PTC News Desk: Shreyas Iyer's unbeaten 87 off 41 balls steered Punjab Kings into the final after achieving five wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in IPL Qualifier 2 while securing their spot in final. He hit eight sixes and stayed not out, helping his team win by five wickets.
The match was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
However as the match day inches closer, speculations have gained momentum about who will win the match if the finale gets washed away due to the rains.
What if rain washes out finale ?
A slight delay in the match due to the rains is acceptable as additional 120 minutes are provided to complete the match. However the downpor remains persistent preventing the match from being completed then the final will shift to the reserve day-that is Wednesday, June 4.
If the condition doesn't improve and remains the same on the resrve day, then the team that finished higher in the league stage will be declared IPL 2025 champions. Well in that case Punjab Kings will have the edge. After finishing top on points table with nine wins from 14 matches, the Shreyas Iyer lead Punjab Kings would be crowned league champions for the year 2025.
