PM Modi and Australian PM to watch India-Australia Test at Motera Stadium today
PTC News Desk: On Thursday morning Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese arrived at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to watch the first day of the final Test match of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023.
Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat along with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state's Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, BCCI president Roger Binny and BCCI secretary Jay Shah receive him. The Australian Prime Minister Albanese said on Thursday that he and Prime Minister Modi will be at the toss for the fourth and final Test for the ongoing series between India and Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Earlier, Albanese expressed his excitement to watch the match with Prime Minister Modi. India is presently leading the Border Gavaskar Trophy series 2-1. The series is named after distinguished former captains, Australia's Allan Border and India's Sunil Gavaskar.
Both the prime ministers are present on the opening day of the fourth Test on Thursday. In the preparation for a large crowd who will be gathering, the Ahmedabad police have stationed more than 3,000 officers at the stadium and the surrounding areas of the city, according to Neeraj Badgujar, the Additional Commissioner of Police, Sector 1.
India is currently leading the series 2-1. The host need to secure an outright victory in the final test match to qualify for the final of the ICC World Test Championship. The championship clash will be staged in London from June 7 onwards.
