S Sreesanth accused in Rs 18.7 lakh cheating case filed by a Kerala resident
Kannur (Kerala), November 23: In a troubling turn of events, S Sreesanth, along with two others, faces legal action under IPC Section 420 for alleged cheating and fraudulent activities. This incident has emerged from a complaint lodged by an individual in Kannur district, north Kerala.
The complainant, a resident of Choonda, has accused Rajiv Kumar and Venkatesh Kini alongside Sreesanth of deceiving him out of Rs 18.70 lakh over multiple instances starting from April 25, 2019. The alleged promise made was the establishment of a sports academy in Kollur, Karnataka, purportedly with Sreesanth as a partner.
Sareesh Gopalan, the complainant, detailed that he invested the substantial sum under the belief of becoming a partner in the proposed academy. The charges filed against Sreesanth and the two others revolve around the violation of IPC Section 420, centering on the alleged deceitful maneuvers to obtain property.
This development casts a shadow on the acclaimed cricketer's reputation, as legal proceedings unfold in response to these serious allegations.
