Shikhar Dhawan confirms relationship with Sophie Shine; shares heartfelt photo on social media
PTC Web Desk: Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has officially gone public about his relationship with Sophie Shine. The ex-India opener shared a heartfelt photo on social media alongside Sophie, captioning the post “My heart.” Speculation about Dhawan’s romantic life had been swirling ever since a photo of him with a ‘mystery woman’ went viral during the Champions Trophy 2025. Several reports later identified the woman as Sophie Shine from Ireland.
In a recent interaction with an anchor, Dhawan was asked directly about his girlfriend’s identity. Though initially hesitant, Dhawan responded with a smile, “I won’t take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend.” The camera then panned to Sophie, confirming the rumours.
Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan also showered praise on teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently set the IPL stage alight. The 14-year-old Rajasthan Royals batter stunned fans with a blistering century against Gujarat Titans, scoring 101 runs off just 35 balls. His innings, featuring 11 sixes and 7 fours, became the second-fastest century in IPL history and the quickest ever by a Rajasthan Royals player, surpassing Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball hundred set 15 years ago.
Speaking at the launch of the Intercontinental Legends Championship (ILC), Dhawan lauded Suryavanshi’s composure and maturity. “His performance was exceptional. What stands out even more than his age is his remarkable self-confidence,” Dhawan remarked. “To dominate bowlers who have represented their countries at such a young age is a huge accomplishment. It’s something the nation should be proud of and will surely motivate countless young cricketers.”
Dhawan, himself the first player to score consecutive centuries in the IPL, also acknowledged other emerging stars this season, including 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre. “It’s fantastic to witness these young talents excelling on such a big platform like the IPL,” he added.
