Virat Kohli turns 36: Kohli's 5 records which are near-impossible to break

PTC News Desk: Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli celebrates his 36th birthday today. With an outstanding career spanning over 15 years, Virat Kohli has established himself as one of the best cricketers of all time. His amazing accomplishments and countless records are a reflection of his dedication and hard work.

From his days as a young, spike-haired prodigy leading India to an iconic ICC U19 World Cup title win in Kuala Lumpur in 2008, Virat has proven himself to be the epitome of consistency, hard work, top-level fitness, dedication, aggression, and an array of other qualities that a top-class sportsperson should have.

Here are Virat Kohli's 8 records that are near-impossible to break

Most ODI centuries: For many years, it was expected that no one would surpass Sachin Tendulkar's (49) record for most ODI centuries. Last year, Kohli scored 50 centuries in the white-ball format. With the drastic decrease in the amount of ODI matches played it is nearly difficult for anyone to get close to the record.

India's most successful Test captain: Virat Kohli is India's most successful Test captain, with 40 victories in 68 games. Only three captains in the world have won more games over the longest format's 147-year history. It will be a remarkable achievement for anyone to lead the national squad in red-ball cricket for this long and with the same success.

Fastest to 8000, 9000, 10000, 11000, 12000, and 13000 ODI runs: It is difficult to argue against the fact that Virat Kohli is the greatest ODI batter, as his status as the quickest to 8000, 9000, 10000, 11000, 12000, and 13000 ODI runs demonstrates. Only five players in ODI history have scored more than 13000 runs in the longest format, and breaking this record will require a miracle as the number of games decreases.

Most Player of the Series awards: Virat Kohli has won the Player of the Series (POTS) accolade 21 times in his career, across all formats. While Sachin Tendulkar (20) is second on the list, the closest active player is Shakib Al Hasan (17)

Most hundreds against one team: Virat Kohli is the first player to have scored ten ODI centuries against the same team (Sri Lanka). He has nine centuries against the West Indies and eight against Australia.
