Sukhbir Badal expresses shock and grief at Amritsar tragedy Chandigarh, October 19 - Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today expressed shock and grief at 50 persons being run down by a train while escaping bursting crackers from Ravana’s effigy at a Dussehra celebration at Amritsar.
In a statement here, the SAD president while expressing his condolences with the bereaved families, urged the Punjab government to provide adequate medical attention to the injured. He said he had spoken to the SGPC President and requested him to provide free medical facilities to the injured persons at the Guru Ram Das hospital run by the institution. Mr Badal also made an appeal to party workers to volunteer and assist the district administration in taking people to hospitals as well as giving food and shelter to tragedy stricken families. -PTC NEWSExtremely sad to hear the unfortunate death of innocent devotees watching Dussehra at Joda Gate in Amritsar by a speeding train.
