Kabul, June 18

: In the breaking update, all the terrorists who attacked Gurdwara Karte Parwan Sahib in Afghanistan's Kabul city, are neutralised by Afghan soldiers. The Gurudwara Sahib is now under Afghanistan Police control. Earlier on Saturday morning, Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul, Afghanistan has been attacked by unidentified gunmen on Saturday morning. Multiple blasts reported at Gurdwara Sahib premises. Videos from the Gurudwara show heavy smoke coming from a distance. Also, bombing sounds were heard in a video and Sikhs there seemed panicked.



Gurnam Singh, the President of Gurdwara Karte Parwan was weeping and said “Gunmen have opened fire in the gurdwara. We are on the other side of the building right now. Some people are suspected to be dead, but details will be clear only when we move inside."

He also requested the government of India to immediately repatriate the Afghan minorities from Kabul without any further delay as they have been waiting for e-visa since six months.



Singh said there were at least 20-25 persons from the Sikh community inside the gurdwara when the attack took place.

Two suicide bombers were also the part of the terrorist group that attacked Gurdwara Karte Parwan early morning. As per the reports, three persons evacuated from Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul. Two of them were injured and sent to hospital. While one guard of Gurdwara Sahib is reported dead. Gurdwara Karte Parwan is the central gurdwara of the Sikh community in Kabul.

Meanwhile, Manjinder Singh Sirsa of the BJP said he has spoken to Gurnam Singh who informed him that the incident occurred at 6 am local time when a granthi was going inside the gurdawara for morning 'parkash' of the Guru Granth Sahib. 'Parkash' is the first prayer in any gurdwara. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also tweeted that, "We are deeply concerned about the reports emanating from Kabul about an attack on a sacred Gurudwara in that city. We are closely monitoring the situation and waiting for further details on the unfolding developments."
