2016 Nabha jailbreak: All 22 convicts sentenced to varying jail terms
Nabha, March 23: Additional Sessions Judge HS Grewal on Thursday sentenced all 22 convicts of the 2016 Nabha jailbreak to varying jail terms. The 22 convicts include over 10 gangsters.
Notably, four alleged gangsters and two terrorists had escaped from the Nabha jail after gangsters dressed in police uniform had fired indiscriminately at the jail guards.
A total of 14 gangsters, many of them dressed as cops, had attacked the jail on November 27, 2016. Firing shots indiscriminately, they took just a few minutes to execute their plan as jail officials failed to retaliate. The police had filed a chargesheet against 34 persons in the case.
There is no clue about the whereabouts of Khalistan ideologue Kashmir Singh Galwandi, who had escaped along with others in 2016.
