BSF foils Pakistani narcotics smuggling attempt: Drone downed near Amritsar border

Amritsar, June 05: In a successful operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted and downed a Pakistani drone carrying a consignment of narcotics near the Amritsar border on late Sunday, at approximately 9:45 pm.

The alert BSF troops, deployed in the depth area, promptly detected the drone in the vicinity of Rattankhurd village in Amritsar district. Following the established protocol, the BSF swiftly moved to intercept the drone, successfully shooting it down along with the contraband.

A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of a black-colored drone, specifically a Quadcopter DJI Matrice 300 RTK, along with a consignment comprising three packets of suspected narcotics (heroin) attached to the drone. The seizure took place in the farming fields of Rattankhurd village in Amritsar district.

The gross weight of the confiscated heroin consignment amounts to approximately 3.2 kilograms.

This incident marks yet another nefarious attempt by Pakistan to smuggle narcotics using drones, effectively thwarted by the vigilant BSF troops.
