BSF shoots down drone in Tarn Taran’s Mastgarh, seizes 3 kg drugs

Chandigarh, October 27: In a successful operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted and shot down a drone operating near the international border in Tarn Taran on Friday morning. The drone was carrying a significant cargo of 3 kilograms of narcotics.

The interception of the drone took place near Mastgarh village, as reported by a BSF officer. Following this incident, a joint search operation was conducted in collaboration with the Punjab Police. During this operation, security personnel discovered a red polyester bag in the fields near the village. Inside the bag were three suspicious packets believed to contain heroin, meticulously wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.


Just the day before, security agencies had uncovered another significant drug haul, consisting of over 6 kilograms of narcotics near the international border in Gurdaspur. In a joint search operation, a large white-colored bag was located in the fields near Adhian village. This bag contained six smaller packets, each wrapped with silver adhesive tape, with a total weight of 6.279 kilograms.

Further adding to the series of discoveries, a Chinese drone was recovered on the outskirts of Bharopal village in Amritsar on the same day. Additionally, near Daoke village, security personnel recovered a small plastic bottle containing 360 grams of narcotics, expanding the scope of the ongoing operations to combat drug smuggling in the region.
