PTC Web Desk: Two wanted gangsters were arrested on Wednesday from a hotel in Mumbai, in a collaborative operation conducted by the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police and the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Pancham Noor Singh, aged 32, and Himanshu Mata, aged 30, both residing in Jalandhar, were fugitives wanted in a case involving attempted murder and kidnapping. This case was filed at the Division Number-6 police station in Jalandhar on October 13.

Earlier, Mukesh Sethi, an associate of Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural, had been arrested by the Jalandhar police in connection with these incidents. Jalandhar Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal said the Crime Investigation Agency, acting on a tip-off, collaborated with the Mumbai Crime Branch. A sting operation was set up at a hotel in the Vinoba Bhave Nagar area of Kurla, resulting in the capture of the wanted criminals, he added.

Chahal said the accused would be taken to Punjab for further investigation. Both of these suspects face charges in 15 cases, including attempted murder, kidnapping, and violations of the Arms Act, at various police stations in Jalandhar.
