Tragedy strikes twice: Arjunbhai Patolia who came to India to fulfill deceased wife’s last wish dies in Air India plane crash

Among the countless heartbreaking stories to emerge from this calamity, one stands out for its sheer emotional weight—that of Arjunbhai Manubhai Patolia, a man who returned to India to fulfill his deceased wife's final wish.
A native of Wadia village in Gujarat's Armeli district, Arjunbhai had made his home in London with his wife and children. But fate took a cruel turn when his wife recently passed away. Honouring her last wish, Arjunbhai travelled to India to immerse her ashes in their hometown. Grief-stricken yet determined, he carried out the final rites with a heavy heart.
After completing the rituals, Arjunbhai boarded Air India flight AI171 on June 12, to return to his grieving children in London. But destiny had a second, more devastating blow in store. The flight tragically crashed into a medical hostel, killing not only passengers but also several students and local residents. In a miraculous twist, only one passenger, seated in 11A, survived the deadly crash.
But for Arjunbhai and hundreds of others, the journey ended in heartbreak. His death has left his children orphaned and the entire nation in shock.
